Bloxwich Community Rally Together To Create Stunning Knitted Poppy Display

The Bloxwich community has prepared for Remembrance Sunday next month with a fitting display of 5,000 knitted poppies to commemorate the contribution of military and civilian servicemen and women.

The area by the fountain and the Pat Collins memorial clock in the promenade gardens have been decorated with poppies donated, crocheted and knitted by the community.

The original plan was to gather donations of a few hundred poppies, but after being inundated with help, there are now 5,000 poppies that adorn the two structures and surrounding fencing.

The Bloxwich community will once again pay their tribute on Remembrance Sunday from 9.30am on 11 November with a muster for parade in Bloxwich Memorial Club to the cenotaph on the high street.

There are also numerous church services, including at All Saints’ Church at 9.30am before the congregation gather outside at 10.30am for the reading of the names of the fallen.
