Beacon Farm shop is a friendly, family-run store that sells farm fresh produce that is hand selected on a daily basis.
The shop is based at Beacon Farm, which has been in the Lilwall family for generations, rearing cattle, breeding pigs and growing produce for local people. One of the area’s best-kept secrets, Beacon Farm has an access road running off Beacon Road, which is the main road travelling between Aldridge and Great Barr.
Thanks to its quality, farm-reared meat, the farm’s butcher’s shop that has developed a loyal following of customers who are willing to travel miles to buy its produce. As a result, most of the business’s trade comes from word-of-mouth, where people keep coming back once they have tried the produce, which is superior to that sold in supermarkets.
Why? Because the meat sold at the Butcher’s Shop is incredibly high quality. Cattle and pigs are reared on the farm, where they are fed on healthy grain that is also milled onsite.
The butcher’s shop sells:

- black pudding
- bacon
- pork pies
- fresh eggs
- pork to die for
The farm also has a popular grocery business, selling vegetables grown on the site alongside fresh hand-selected produce brought in daily from wholesalers.
Peter and Pauline Lilwall have spent the last 22 years extending and improving the farm to create a thriving site, which supports a number of businesses, selling everything from restored furniture to bicycles.
Throughout the pandemic, the farm has stuck to all the strict guidelines laid down by the Government, following hygiene rules, restricting the numbers of people in the shops at any time and practising social distancing. All of this has been carefully overseen by staff who pride themselves on friendly, welcoming and homely customer service.
The staff advise 2 people per shop, while masks must be worn on entry and hand sanitiser is provided and applied at the door This is to keep you safe as a customer and also our staff, so we can be there to provide you with your needs.
The farm team understands cold wet weather is not ideal for queueing, and we are working as quickly and efficiently to reduce any wait times.
Opening times are:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 8am – 5pm
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 7am – 5pm
Sunday: 8am -1pm.
