A new netball club in Aldridge is appealing for new players to join it.

Aldridge Netball Club changed its name this season after being based at Shelfield for the past four years.

Now, in its new training home of St Francis of Assisi School, Pauline Madden, who runs the club, welcomes all ages and abilities to the game – as well as men to join the mixed-sex training sessions.

Pauline is a Level 2 England Netball Coach.

The club holds practice sessions at the school, in Erdington Road, every Wednesday and Thursday, with children’s training for six-11 year olds taking place between 6pm and 7pm, while adult training takes place from 7-8.30pm.

The full schedule for netball training is as follows:

  • Children age 6+ every Wednesday 6.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Adults age 14+ every Wednesday 7.00pm – 8.30pm
  • Children age 6+ every Thursday 6.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Adults age 14+ every Thursday 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Aldridge Netball Club currently has five adult teams that play in the Cheslyn Hay Leagues4you league, which has more than 500 netball and rounders teams nationwide and focuses on community, friendship, and being a place for everyone to get involved in sports.

Pauline also runs two mixed teams, which can have a maximum of three male players, that play in the Sutton Coldfield Leagues4you.

Training sessions cost from £4.25 per session and membership costs £12 per adult for a year and £10 for children and students.
