Old Hall People’s Partnership – or OHPP – is a caring community charity that helps and supports local people through a range of services and projects.

OHPP was founded in Bentley in October 2000 by Denise Birkett, since when it has grown to make a difference across Walsall from its HQ at The People’s Partnership Centre, in Wing Close, Bentley.

Youth services, gardening and handyman services, furniture collection, activities centre, a lending library, a café, guidance counselling, fundraisers, training and a vast array of community activities are all part of what OHPP offers.

Advice
OHPP’s benefit, debt and money advice service has eased the burden for countless thousands of people across Walsall and, if you are in need, then we can help you too.

Library
OHPP is proud to educate kids and adults alike by running Bentley’s public library, in The Peoples Partnership Centre, Wing Close, Bentley. The site provides a vast array of contemporary books, computer access and facilities for pre-school and school children.

Charity Shops
OHPP has two charity shops – The Hub, in Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Bentley, and Reflections, in New Street, Darlaston, which provide residents of Walsall with good quality clothing at affordable prices. OHPP’s shops provide training in retail and customer services to lesser abled, elderly or disadvantaged volunteers, as well as raising vital funds.

Community Café
Our Community Café, in Wilkes Avenue, Bentley, has a warm, friendly atmosphere and  serves a wonderful variety of homemade hot and cold dishes.

Pass It On
Pass It On, in The Leys, New Street, Darlaston, helps ordinary people buy quality furniture at low prices, by recycling items which people donate to us. Any profits we make are ploughed back into the charity’s work.

Spadework
Spadework, based at The Peoples Partnership Centre, Wing Close, Bentley, is OHPP’s team of gardeners who carry out gardening, mowing, hedge cutting, fencing landscaping across Walsall for people in need.

Support services
We’ve been delivering support services to older and vulnerable people, families and those most in need for over 20 years.   The services run from our Community Cafe, based in Wilkes Avenue Bentley where we offer lunch clubs, activity clubs, home and telephone befriending, bereavement counselling, and face to face individual support.  We also offer a wide range of freshly cooked food, hot and cold drinks, all served up in a warm and welcoming environment.

Conference facilities and office hire
We offer fully-serviced office space in bright, naturally-lit rooms, which are complemented with free WiFi, free and plentiful parking and access to all major routes. Our conference facilities can easily manage 30 people and we are happy to provide refreshments and full catering.

October Sports and Dance Facilities
OHPP has a well-equipped sports hall to help Walsall stay fitter and healthier. We accommodate everything from yoga classes to tennis, badminton, roller skating, football and basketball. OHPP also has an excellent dance studio, designed for tutorials, rehearsals and is open to movers and groovers from across Walsall.

OHPP is supported by Walsall Council, Awards for All, the Big Lottery Fund, the European Social Fund, the Eveson Charitable Trust and the Henry Smith Charity.
