Walsall U3A

Walsall U3A is part of a national and international organisation formed for the benefit of retired and semi-retired people. The Walsall group was set up 12 years ago by our past president Sheila Clarke when fifty people attended the first meeting. Our membership has grown from small beginnings to our current membership of five hundred. The group hold a monthly meeting on the first Thursday of each month at St. Martin’s Church, Sutton Road, Walsall, WS3 3DQ from 2pm to 4pm, where members are able to listen to speakers on a variety of topics and afterwards enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a biscuit and a chat.

Interest Group
Apart from the main meeting, interest groups are organised by members and meet at various times throughout the month. These include: Informative Groups, such as history, architecture and language; Games Groups, including card and board games and a table tennis groups; a Questers Group, which gives members the opportunity to visit a wide range of places of interest; and a Garden Group, where during the summer months they visit homes and gardens. There is also a Walking and a Strolling group, a Singles Lunch group, a Crafts group and a Meet and Eat group. For a full range of our activities, please visit our website or telephone Jackie, whose details are below.

Why Should You Join Us?
We are a friendly group and it gives people the opportunity to make friends or even, as has happened, renew old acquaintances. Above all, it is a way to learn from each other, laugh with each other and live an active and rewarding life with each other.
