Public Vigil For Murdered MP To Be Held In Walsall

A public vigil in Walsall will be held in remembrance of Sir David Amess, the conservative member of parliament who tragically lost his life last Friday.

Councillor Rasab, Chairman of the Walsall Conservative party, highlights the vigil on Twitter

Sir David, MP for Southend West, was stabbed multiple times while hosting a constituency surgery at a Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea on 15 October 2021. He was treated for his injuries at the scene, but later died.

The attack was declared a terrorist incident after 25-year-old Ali Harbi Ali, a South London-born man with Somali heritage and the son of a former Somali government official, was arrested, according to BBC sources.

The vigil will take place outside St. Pauls Crossing, Darwall Street, Walsall, WS1 1DA at 6pm-6.30pm on Tuesday 19 October.
