“Real Change Is Coming To Walsall Town Centre” says Deputy Leader

A master plan for the regeneration of Walsall is well underway and – starting this week – residents will be asked their opinions on the changes and to gather more ideas to improve the town centre.

Face-to-face interviews with residents will be taking place with researchers between 17 May and 9 June in the town centre.

The ambitious plans include the redevelopment of the Saddlers Centre with a Performing Arts Venue, an enhanced railway gateway entrance, rail concourse and associated street works around the bus station.

Other plans include a new public square on Park Street and improvements to access to and from the railway station.

Deputy Leader of Walsall Council, Cllr Adrian Andrew said:

“Real change is coming to Walsall Town Centre as we work to deliver the aims of the Town Centre Masterplan. Government funding has given us the opportunity to turn our vision into reality. It’s important that we listen to our residents and take them with us on this exciting journey.”
