Barrett Steam Models Ltd from Pelsall have been designing and manufacturing steam locomotives for hobbyists since 1980, which means they’ve been trading for 41 years! Last year, due to Covid restrictions, it was impossible to host an event to celebrate.
So, to make up for lost time and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Barrett Steam Models, Chasewater Steam Railway is hosting a special event on 11-12 September 2021.
On the day, in the railway heritage centre, you can expect to see the Midsummer Norton portable track set-up, which will be running some of the locos. Hobbyists are also invited to bring their own locos to run on the tracks on a first come, first served basis.
Barrett Steam models will also have a selection of kits and castings that can be purchased on the day.
Entrance to the event, which takes place between 10.30am-4.30pm on the Saturday and Sunday is free and parking costs £3 for the day.
The tearoom will be open as normal and there’s the option to purchase a ticket to ride on the Chasewater line from the booking office, as well as enjoy a short ride on a selection of miniature traction engines on the Saturday.
