Inspired by the Walsall hippo, the much-loved landmark that has stood in town for over 45 years, a new hidden hippo trail aims to get residents exploring the town like never before.
Using an augmented reality (AR) app, Walsall folk will be invited to search the town for camouflaged hippo cut outs which will come to life when viewed through the app.
In order to bring the trail to life, Walsall Council are seeking talented local artists to help create the artwork and are offering commissions between £25-£250. Applications can be made online.
A statement released via the council’s Our Walsall Twitter page reveals: “Working in partnership with Urban Hax, through the AR App, the Hidden Hippo Trail will give massive exposure to the participating Artists (who they are, links to their other work etc).”
Hidden Hippo Trail is a brand new initiative to enable people in Walsall to discover and re-engage with the town in a brand-new way. Urban Hax are inviting artists from the area to camouflage the Hippos. Find out more here: https://t.co/I71q2RsTI6
