Walsall Victorian Arcade Closed Due To Stabbing

[UPDATE] West Midlands Police has confirmed that a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the leg on Midland Road, Walsall at approximately 10am on Monday 6 September.

Witnesses say that blood was found on the floor in the Victorian Arcade which was shut while investigations took place.

Police are currently examining CCTV and speaking with witnesses. West Midlands Police has released the following statement regarding knife crime.

The Victorian Arcade in Walsall was closed today, Monday 6 September, after a man was assaulted.

According to police reports, a man suffered a leg wound and was taken from Midland Road to hospital after emergency services were called just before 10am after reports of a stabbing. Consequently, the Victorian Arcade was evacuated and police were blocking off the entrances from approximately midday.

A paramedic and ambulance officer treated the man at the scene. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening but he was taken to hospital to receive further treatment.

Police are still trying to establish where the initial assault took place and the offender has yet to be caught.
